Do we really need a new point guard? Part 2:

This is part two of a 2 part series asking the question"Do we really need a new point gaurd?"

The trade deadline has passed, but yet people still keep on talking about wanting a new PG. Why? Because over the the last month and a half or so, we have forgotten about how good Mo Williams was before his injury.
Mo's stats are likely better, but, stats don't always tell the whole story.  On the other hand we could get someone who is younger, and has more potential to grow with the team. Lets look at some players who I think we should go after, vs  Mo's stats all together.
First we need to assess who everyone likes.  Obviously we have enough room for three max contracts when this season ends. So we can try to go for anybody hard.
I really would like the Jazz to go hard after:  1.Brandon Jennings 2. Jeff Teague

Part 1.

Jeff Teague vs Mo Williams

As you see above when they both play 36 minutes Jeff averages more points, steals, free throws, and a better field goal percent. This would allow us to run a much less point guard oriented offense. Teague also shoots more shots per game within five feet of the hoop, and with the big men, we could easily just dump a pass off right then and there. Teague seems like the perfect point guard for this franchise. And to answer my question.

Yes if we can grab Teague or Jennings in the Off-Season than we would be better off with them than Mo, but if we can't grab one of them, than, we could easily grow with Mo at the Point.

Green Background = + last month's best case scenario
Yellow Background= + last month's likeliest scenario
Red Background= + last month's worst case scenario

Best Case Scenario:

The Jazz continue their new found dominance with rival wins at home against Portland and Denver, crush the life out of the "Future Pelicans" and Kanter slams down another 20-20 game at Golden State to keep up this win streak. They than lose a thriller against OKC but end the year with 3 more straight wins to secure the #5 seed in the conference. Jazzman Gordon Hayward gets recognition for 6th man of the year award, and Alec Burks misses Most Improved player award by a couple votes.

Record:
51-31 (7-1 for the month)

Best Case Scenario:

The Jazz are on a 3 game win streak already and beat Portland and Denver in thrillers, New Orleans in a blowout, Golden State on a buzzer beater and OKC in the tightest game of the year. This streak doesn't end until the Jazz rest their men in the last game of the year against Memphis. They end up in the #5 Seed.

Record:
47-35 (7-1 for the month)

Best Case Scenario:

The Jazz are almost out of gas, they try to make a last burst at the playoffs with a win in Utah against the #9 Trail Blazers, but almost on cue lose against Denver, and Gordon Hayward Tears his ACL. They lose to Golden State and OKC after beating New Orleans When our healthy young guns all step up Coach Ty starts them and we win the rest of our games. Missing the playoffs by just 2 games.

Record:
40-42 (5-3 for the month)

Likeliest Scenario:

The Jazz have just come off of a huge month in March, and are currently on a 5 game winning streak. They come across up top against Portland, but lose a tough one against Denver. They bounce back with wins against New Orleans and Golden State, but lose a hard one to OKC. They beat Minnesota twice to clinch a top 6 playoff experience, and beat Memphis to take over the #5 Seed.

Record:
50-32 (6-2 for the month)

Likeliest Scenario:

The Jazz start off strong with wins facing Portland, Denver, and Hornets. They top Golden State in a close game, which could decide future playoff seeds. They lose a heart breaker against OKC but jump back at Minnesota, with two wins, and end the season on a loss at Memphis.

Record:
46-36 (6-2 for the month)

Likeliest Scenario:

The Jazz need a boost to make the playoffs, and that is what they get, with three straight wins on the road, they then lose to Golden State, and OKC, but win the next two games, and lose to Memphis, they miss the playoffs by one game.

Record:
40-42 (5-3 for the month)

Worst Case Scenario:

The Jazz just had their best month yet, and are beginning to play as if they can't be beat, They lose to Portland, and Denver. They crash back with a win against New Orleans, but lose the next two games against  OKC and Golden State. They win at home against Minnesota which secures a playoff spot, but lose their last 2 games of the season, they make the 8th seed.

Record:
46-36 (2-6 for the month)

Worst Case Scenario:

Coming off an average month they start out with a couple losses paired with a win against the Hornets. They lose back to back blowouts and don't have much more hope. They lose against Minnesota twice and end the month with a loss to Memphis. After missing the playoffs, Ty Corbin is fired for bombing the season, and the Jazz go into the offseason hoping for better luck.

Record:
41-41 (1-7 for the month)

Worst Case Scenario:

Coming off an average month they start out with a couple losses paired with a win against the Hornets. They lose back to back blowouts and don't have much more hope. They lose against Minnesota twice and end the month with a loss to Memphis. After missing the playoffs, Ty Corbin is fired for bombing the season, and the Jazz go into the offseason hoping for better luck.

Record:
36-46 (1-7 for the month)

Best Case Scenario:

The Jazz will come out strong with wins, at Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Chicago, only to lose barely to the fierce Knicks. They than easily beat Detriot but again lose in a close match to the Thunder. The Jazz then beat Memphis, and New York in the comfort of their own fans, and survive the Rockets in a brutal 2OT match. Tired they lose a blowout to San Antonio but bounce back with a win in Dallas, they end the month on a 5 game winning streak.

Record:
44-30 (12-3 for the month)

Likeliest Scenario:

The Jazz start out losing to the Bucks on the road, but follow it with a nice win in Cleveland, they end their 4 game road stand with two losses to Chicago and New York. They outplay Detroit but lose in a thriller to OKC. They crash a comeback party against Memphis and have their best game of the season with a 28 point win against the 2nd best team in the east. They block a potential Houston game winner, but then go on a 3 game losing streak and cap off the month with 3 straight wins.

Record:
40-34 (8-7 for the month)

Worst Case Scenario:
The Jazz lose every game in their 4 game road drought, win a pick-me-up game against Detroit, but lose the next 6 in the month, Next they win 2 in Utah but lose their last two games.

Record:

35-39 (3-12 for the month)
